Packaged Rice Krispie Treats were available at one of the treatment centers where I received my chemotherapy. I always found them appealing, partially due to the intense sweetness but mostly due to their oh-so-satisfying texture. Crunchy, sticky, with just the right amount of give, Rice Krispies feel delightfully substantial in your mouth. Courtesy of Kellogg's, here's the classic recipe for the Original Rice Krispies.

The Original Rice Krispies Treats
Ingredients:
3 tbsp butter
1 10oz package marshmallows
6 c Rice Krispies cereal
1. Grease a 9"x13" pan.
2. Melt the butter in a large saucepan.
3. Add marshmallows to butter and stir until melted. Remove from heat.
4. Add Rice Krispies and stir until thoroughly coated.
5. Press mixture into greased pan. If necessary, lightly grease a spatula or your hand to keep from sticking during this step.
6. Let treats cool completely, then cut into 2" squares.
